Paleomedia continues to misrepresent Tea Parties

After the Brevard County Tax Day Tea Party held at Wickham Park in April, 2010, a local columnist wrote an article wherein he stated that the Tea Party comment that our constitutional rights have been trampled was a case of reality mocking rhetoric. Oh really?

As evidence he pointed out, rightfully, that he “watched a peaceful crowd indulge their First Amendment rights to speak, assemble, hand out political literature, and petition their government for redress of grievances.” However, as many in the paleomedia often do, he misses – or ignores – the point of the bigger picture. Glisch alleges non-existent ethics violation against Infantini; Florida Today moves from reporting on campaigns to working for them

Not unexpectedly, the Florida Today calmly endorsed Mr. Geier and Mr. Fisher for the County Commission earlier this month (read Florida Today endorsements here).

From this point there are three paths generally taken by the Florida Today: Slam the living tar out of the opponent, pat the opponent on the back while you dismiss them, or simply state briefly the opponent is unprepared and move on.

Rhetoric doesn’t fit Reality or Sophistries don’t fit Truth?

The guest column by Mr. Mozo contains numerous willful and deliberate inaccuracies, or in some cases, just outright deliberately misleading untruths.

Mr. Mozo states he was “dismayed to read” in late February about the Clerk’s Office having a small number of layoffs to get the expenditures back in line with the revenue.  Thus being dismayed, he then decided to “examine the office budgets for the past nine years to try and understand why this layoff is truly necessary.”  Read more
